titles, subjects, etc.. i heard one was that false relegion was going to collapse at any moment.
but, of course, that's been being said for quite a while.

Christ means "Annointed". Thus the the theme, "Follow THE Christ".
I'm sure there will be plenty of consideration at the DC of the FDS (Governing Body) as whom we should give our utmost allegience.

So does that mean a jw with an unbelieving family can never attain the coveted elder position?
No. They still can become an elder. In my former congregation, one brother was appointed an elder even though his wife is still a Catholic. His wife was never opposed to the JW's (as far as I know) and was always hospitable and kind to the members in the congregation. She never studied nor even thought of even becoming a JW, although she would occasionally attend meetings, such as the Memorial or when the CO came for his visits. i was just remembering some of the great sleep i used to get at the meetings.
towards the end i would sleep while reading for the bookstudy and the watchtower lesson.

It reminds me of one time where I was falling asleep while being the reader at the book study. I tried so hard not to slip away into bliss, as everyone was facing me and the conductor. I was soooo sleepy but fighting it off the best I could.
Imagine my face! Cross-eyed with one side of my mouth hanging down while my head is swaying to and fro. The book study group got a good laugh from the funny faces I was making. I triumphed though, and didn't fall asleep. But it was a darn hard battle.

part 1. i when to bethel march 21,1970. at the time you had to be a pioneer for two years to apply, by the time i left in 1974 they were calling people in who had never pioneered..........average stay was 5 months ( they had signed up for 4 years)..........the reason they left was......well, it was hell.. one of the reasons was, knorr hated bethelites, but he loved the gilead students and why?
because when they screwed up they were thousands of miles away!........just before i got there, they had kicked out over 60!

From your cartoon that you posted "God's people leave Bethel", I noticed the name Jim Bauer. I remember him. Tall, lanky single brother. He once was a visiting speaker at my former congregation when he came over to stay with an ex-bethelite who was an elder in my congregation. They were long time friends. Considering that Jim Bauer was a long time Bethelite and a "heavy" there, all the members in my former congregation hailed him like a god from Mount Olympus Bethel.
Had dinner with him once when he visited. Seemed like a nice person. Rather mild and quiet. I forgot what his duty was at Bethel. Did you know him personally?

my congregation had 85 members in the 90's.today, there are only 35 members.i counted 6 divorces that were due to infidelity.all were married in their teens and each married the first person they ever dated.all the men found new girlfriends or remarried and left all the kids and financial burdens on their wives.most of the ex-wives live with their parents and have a hard time remarrying due to lack of men in the kingdom hall.. now,the new thing is for these divorced women finding brothers who were divorced due to infidelity in their marriage and date brothers from out of state.don't you think that by finding a partner who was in the same situation makes it more difficult?
and what guarantee is there that this will work since their first husbands were witnesses?.
There were two couples involved in my former congregation.
The wives stayed in the organization while their ex-husbands were DF'D and moved away with their mistresses.

i was at my jw's friends house a few days ago and she had a jar on her counter that had "trip to bethel" written on it.. there was some chump change inside.

the walls of the wts are finally being cracked but nobody is breaking down the walls.we have the internet exposing all their lies,elders resigning,no new members beside families being baptized, contributions dwindling,teens leaving in droves,and layoffs at the wts headquarters .still,the walls remain intact.the 800 lbs.
gorilla is missing to break down the wall.. we know in 1975 many members left but the wts wall was easily repaired.who will finally break the walls down and how will it happen?
what will it take for a mass exodus?.
JW reform.
I already know of serveral congregations that are quite liberal. Perhaps that is the current movement.
By the way, I'm contributing toward the "liberal" phase.
